About the studio
Braglunt is a small educational project focused on the practical foundations of calligraphy. It is operated by Poltak B.V., registered in the Netherlands.
Origin
Many people who become interested in calligraphy start with beautiful finished examples and then struggle when they try to produce consistent letterforms themselves. The gap between admiration and executable skill is often filled with vague encouragement rather than clear diagnostic methods. Braglunt was started from the observation that systematic attention to basic strokes, tool behaviour and form diagnostics produces more reliable progress than endless copying of finished pieces.
The materials were developed by practitioners who had spent years teaching short workshops and noticing the same recurring difficulties. The decision was made to organise those observations into self-contained practice modules that could be used independently, at the learner’s own pace.

- Practice before display — the focus remains on process and observation
- Diagnosis over judgement — specific, correctable issues rather than general praise or criticism
- Tools as variables — understanding cause and effect between pen, ink and paper
- Honest scope — foundational skill, not professional training or business coaching
- Self-directed access — materials remain available for repeated use

Content is developed by a small group with practical experience in calligraphy instruction and material preparation.

Shapes the progressive writing tasks and applied scenarios so that each exercise remains concrete and assessable.
